My Review
FIVE STARS

I'm loving this series!  This is the second book in the Love In The City series.  You don't have to read the first novel to understand the second.  A lot of the characters that are in the first novel are also in the second novel.  This novel focuses on Maverick and Harper.

When Harper and Maverick meet, it wasn't pleasant the first minute.  Maverick, a gym owner, has a deep dislike for anyone associated with the fashion industry.  He blames the industry for the death of a friend (who happened to be friends with Harper) who was bulimic.  Harper wants to volunteer as a mentor in the counseling program that Maverick has at his gym.  She also struggled with bulimia, but sought out treatment after the death of their friend.  He recognized Jen Harper, the famous fashion designer.  What he didn't know is she is Harper, the sister of one of his friends, Carter.  Carter has mentioned to Maverick he planned to introduce the two to one another!

There is so much that happens in this novel.  I enjoyed seeing the live develope between Harper and Maverick.  Their love scenes are hit (chocolate syrup plays a role in one of tye scenes!)  The two want the same things out of life and both have several tattoos!  Maverick has to deal with Harper being in the public eye.  Some of the things that the paparazzi puts out there may put his trust in her to the test.  There is also a littlebit of suspense with a stalker that Harper and a model/actor friend of hers, Max, have been dealing with for quite some time.  I love that they are part of this circle of friends who they always have so much fun with.  It's like they are an extended family for one another and always there to support one another.

Just like the first novel, I enjoyed the second one just the same!  Steph writes such cute love stories that will suck you in!  The characters are are a lot of fun and there's no lack of humor between them.  I'm really eager to read the next installment and I'm guessing it could be about Fletch?

Carter was captivated by Ellyson Evans the moment he laid eyes on her,

but she was the one girl who didn't beg for his attention.
He wanted her.
Ellyson vowed to never fall in love, because love can destroy you,
but then she met Carter Jennings.
She wanted him.
Unwilling to risk their comfortable friendship, neither confessed their desires.
Losing touch after college, a chance meeting reconnects them.
They want each other.
But love in the city is never quite that easy.
Steph Nuss was born and raised in rural Kansas, where she currently resides with her black Labrador son named Gunner. She grew up with a passion for reading and writing. When she’s not immersed into the land of fiction, she enjoys listening to music that came before her time, watching movies and reruns of her favorite shows, and hanging out with her family and friends. She also has a bachelor’s degree in psychology that she’ll never use…unless she’s profiling her characters of course.
