This is such a good start in this debut novel for Author Kristen Hope Mazzola! This novel is told from the point of view of Mags McManus. Mags married her college sweetheart, Randy. The two were not married for that long when he went away for the military and died in an accident. You get to see the ups and downs of emotions that Mags go through. She is still learning to cope with events in her life and trying to move on with her life.
Mags has a good group of friends that she has known since college. They have been the support system she needs by always being there for her. Her in laws usually invite her over for dinner and are so good to her. Her mother tries to show her support to her, but the way she does it irritates Mags.
One of her college friends, Walker, who happens to be Randy's best friend, she does start to develop feelings for. She feels guilty for having these feelings, like she's cheating or betraying her late husband for the thoughts. Mags and Walker eventually do go along with their feelings for one another.
The two having a relationship together is not exactly going to be a cakewalk. The two do have a lot of fun and hot moments together. Mags does still have Randy in her mind at times. We do learn that Walker does have some demons that he has kept hidden well, but trying to battle..
Crashing Back down does have a roller coaster ride of emotions. The characters have their sad moments and they also have their fun times as well. With the way the novel ended, you are left wondering what is going to happen and eager for the next installment!
